The Marriott

BRIEF: To design uniforms for the Goji Kitchen Restaurant & Bar waitstaff, chefs and managers within The Marriott Hotel located in China based around a theme of migration and reunion.

INTENT: This collection was inspired by air hostesses from the 1960s and the belief that the men should look dapper. All the uniforms incorporate clean sophisticated silhouettes that are flattering without being revealing. Each uniform incorporates one of two designs, that were made specifically for this project, that were influenced by 1950s fabric designs. They are representative of seeds and flowers travelling from one area or country to settle in another.

OUTCOME: My designs, along with April Gosper and Melanie Williams, are currently being further worked and then presented to the Marriott’s senior management in Hong Kong and the USA.
